Bat surveys
We are bat survey specialists! Bat surveys are the common form of ecological assessment carried out by our team. Many of the UK's 18 species of bat our found in our area, and all are protected by law along with their roosts. Once our bat surveys are completed we'll provide you with a clear, concise report to support your planning application.
Bat Scoping Surveys
We are bat survey specialists! Many of the 17 species of British bat are found in our area, and all are protected by law along with their roosts. Bat scoping surveys are carried out to check for the presence or absence of bats on your site, along with the suitability of roosting within buildings/trees. Should the potential or positive presence of bats be confirmed, we would then move onto the second stage of surveying.

Dusk/Dawn
Surveys
Once we have completed the initial bat scoping survey, it may be necessary for us to then carry out a second phase of surveys should evidence indicate the presence of bats. These dusk/dawn surveys (also known as emergence/re-entry surveys) can only be carried out between the months of May and September, when bats are most active. For this reason, timing is crucial to avoid delays with your project.

Mitigation and Licensing
Should bats be present on your site, we can guide you through the process of mitigation and, where required, the application of a European Protected Species (EPS) licence. Involving an ecologist during the early stages of planning is key to helping prevent or signicantly reduce delays with your planning applications and development projects.
