Biodiversity Net Gain assessment
We prepare detailed BNG assessments to help projects meet legal requirements and enhance ecological value. Our experienced ecologists provide tailored solutions, including baseline habitat assessments, biodiversity metric calculations, and input on habitat creation or enhancement plans. We work closely with clients to ensure measurable gains for nature, balancing development needs with sustainability goals.

Protected species
surveys
Many species of British wildlife are showing signs of rapid decline due to disturbance, habitat loss and reductions of suitable prey and feeding grounds. Of these, several species are protected by law from being disturbed, injured and killed in anyway, including damage and destruction of their habitats. For this reason, protected species surveys are required to support planning applications.

Bat surveys
We are bat survey specialists! Many of the 18 species of British bat are found in our local area, and all are protected by law along with their roosts. Bat surveys are our most common ecological assessments, and our local ecologists can provide you with daytime and nocturnal suverys, clear concise report writing, and EPSL applications and mitigation when required.

Ecological Impact Assesments
We provide comprehensive Ecological Impact Assessments to support your projects and ensure compliance with planning regulations. Our team assesses potential impacts on habitats and species, identifying risks and opportunities for ecological enhancement. Whether your project is at the planning stage or requires post-construction monitoring, we offer tailored advice to balance development goals with ecological protection.

Ecological Clerk of Works
Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) services ensure your project complies with environmental regulations during construction. Our experts offer on-site monitoring, guidance, and practical solutions to protect wildlife and habitats. From pre-construction surveys to overseeing mitigation measures, we help minimise ecological impact and ensure compliance throughout the project.

Protected Species
Licences
Comprehensive support for Protected Species Licensing helps you navigate legal requirements, ensuring your project stays compliant and on schedule. From preparing and submitting applications to liaising with regulatory authorities, we manage the entire licensing process. With expertise in species such as bats, great crested newts, and dormice, our team ensures your project meets both ecological and legal standards while supporting conservation efforts.

Why are we required?
Ecological surveys can be required by law for any development projects that involve natural habitats, agricultural and residential buildings where protected species may be present. Involving an ecologist during the early stages of planning can help to prevent or signicantly reduce delays with your planning applications and development projects.
